Our Clerks
The Black Chambers clerks offer an approachable, efficient and extremely helpful service, and are a crucial link between instructing agents and Counsel. They are happy to help with any query in relation to the availability of Counsel, and can help you identify the most appropriate Advocate for any particular instruction.
The clerks are fully versed in the workings of the criminal courts system and are in regular contact with Crown Office, Procurator Fiscals and Justiciary Office.

Since becoming Advocates Clerk in 2002, Lee-Anne has proved herself invaluable to Counsel in the running and development of their practices. Previously employed by the Scottish Legal Aid Board, Lee-Anne has an excellent understanding of the Scottish legal system, and provides a consistently high quality, professional service to our customers.
Lee-Anne is out of the office on Tuesdays.

Stevie has been an employee of the Faculty of Advocates since 1994, and was appointed as a Deputy Clerk in Black Chambers in 2002. His experience of working in various departments has provided him with a useful insight into the organisation of the Faculty of Advocates as a whole. A qualified Criminal Paralegal, his friendly, down to earth approach proves popular with instructing agents.

Emma has been employed by Faculty since 2016, starting her career in Data Operations before working in the Criminal Appeal Unit for 3 years. She is a qualified Paralegal in Criminal Law and brings a wealth of experience. Her friendly and approachable attitude provides a welcoming and professional environment within the stable.
